So i know it has been way too long since i have written! life just goes to fast to keep up now. But life is going great!!! Lets see... where do i start...
Well about a month ago i felt our little baby's first big kick! It was so amazing.... i was at work and it was right after lunch. I was doing some work on the computer when i felt this odd pressure feeling on the left side of my belly.... so i start to rub it and i look down and all of the sudden i felt it.... it is the most amazing feeling!!! You could see a little spot on my belly move.... like someone was flicking my stomach from the inside. As i realized what was going on i started to cry. It was such an overwhelming feeling... so exciting!!! And he has been moving ever since :) He moves the most right after i eat, usually breakfast and dinner are the things that get him moving the most.
Oh, also very exciting, we have started getting the his room together! It is soooo cute so far! We painted green and blue stripes in the bottom half of the room, using a wall paper border as a chair rail. It looks great and i will get pictures up very soon :) We put the crib together last week which turned out to be difficult! The crib is one that PJ's brother and his wife have lent us. So we did not have directions to put this bad boy together.... but PJ eventually got it together! (with minimal help from me) My mom is making the bedding and she has finished the crib skirt as well as the bumpers which both look great!
I had my monthly check up last week. At this appointment i took my gestational diabetes test.... i did not pass :( but not to worry.... i am going back to take a longer version of that test to make sure everything is OK and that i do not have diabetes caused by pregnancy. I do that this Saturday morning so wish me luck!
One last little update... my garden is producing like crazy! I have a ton of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and cantaloupe!
I hope you are all doing great and enjoying your summer! Hopefully it will not take me this long to write next time.

We are having.....
Hello everyone!!! Our appointment yesterday went great!!! I will get to the point... We are going to have a baby BOY!!!!!!! :) He was being a little mover yesterday and did not want to show us what he was... but we finally got a good clear picture of our little BOY :) PJ is unbelievably excited! He has already began talking about his first Ohio State football game. I am thinking about how much fun the boundary water trips will be with our new addition! Of course it will be a few years before we do either but it will be so much fun when we can!!!! We have a lot of fun times ahead of us.
In both of our families we have had a long tradition of having girls. Well not PJ and I but our families :) On his side his brother has three girls and on my side it is just me and my sister. So we welcomed the surprising change! :) Of course we would have been very excited with a girl as well! We have started debating over names but have not really choose one yet... we are leaning towards one but I am not ready to share it yet! I will save that one for another day :) Well that is all i have for now :) What exciting news though!!! We love you all very much :)
Love,
Katie, PJ and Baby BOY!
P.S. I will try and get the newest sono pictures up soon!

6 Days and Counting
Hi everyone! Sorry i have been slacking on getting my posts in lately. Life is going very well here, routine routine routine. So basically there is no big news on our end. We are counting down the days until we find out weather we should call our little one a he or a she! We are soooooooooo excited to find out! OH and i have been feeling little movements :) They are not huge and no one else can feel them yet. They are not huge or distinct it is just feels like a little "swooshing" in my belly :) We have the most of the furniture in the baby's room but decided not to set it up until we find out boy or girl. I think we are going to do some painting in the room but have not decided what colors or designs... i was leaning towards stripes and maybe gender neutral colors. (I am not so into the baby blues and pinks) But we will see what our final decision is! If you have any ideas or suggestions please let me know! Maybe we will go look at some ideas this weekend!
Oh and my little garden has taken off! My tomatoes and peppers are getting very big! And my beans, carrots and beats are growing like little weeds. I promise i will get some pictures up of the house and garden sooner then later :)
Love you all very much!

It feels like it has been awhile since i wrote anything! Maybe a week or two. Anyways everything on our end is very calm and nice! We have settled into our new house very nicely. I do have pictures of the house but now have to upload them to the computer... everything is a process :)
We had a very nice mothers day. This was not technically my first, next year will be (but i have to admit i enjoyed it like it was my first) We went out to breakfast at Grand Street Cafe with some family, which was very nice! Then we did some landscaping. We planted Azaleas in the front along with some Hostas. And we reworked out flower bed a bit. We still need to get mulch to cover up the ugly gravel they laid before us! So that was a fun day :) I was soooooo tired by the end of it though. Oh and also i have got everything planted in my garden!!! Well most everything that is. . . so far i have my tomatoes, peppers, beets, carrots and green beans in. I am just waiting for my seedlings to get a little bigger for my cantaloupe and cucumbers. and then i think we will be all set! Last night i went to water the garden and check on everything and it was so fun because all the seeds had sprouted. The beans were the most "dramatic" just like my dad said they would be! I looked one day and there was nothing in then the next they were an inch tall! It was crazy!!!! (but very cool to watch)
Now on to the good stuff! My appointment went great! It was just a normal checkup. I did get to hear the little heartbeat however :) It was right around the 150s range which is perfect and exactly where is it suppose to be. It was so wonderful hearing it again!!!!! So the next appointment is the big one... we will find out the sex of the baby! I can not believe we are only 3 weeks away from knowing boy or girl! I have been telling everyone either way it will be such a surprise!!!!! Most women guess one way or the other before they find out but i do not have a clue! I go back and forth. So that will be a big post for everyone to read :)
Last but not least I want to thank you guys for catching up with us and commenting on the posts! Its always so fun to get on and check and see what everyone has said!!! I am so so so so so glad that we have been able to share all this fun stuff with you and will continue to :)
we hope everyone is doing well!

We are moved in!!!!
Hi everyone! So i woke up this morning in my new house!!! PJ worked so hard yesterday at getting all of our stuff moved in, he was def a rock star!!!! I am so thanking him today! Anyways I did promise pictures of the house and really am planning on taking some this weekend :) PJ's family is coming up this evening after work to see the house. Oh... and they are bringing the baby furniture!!!! We are borrowing a very nice crib and changing table from Tyler, PJ's older brother. (THANKS TYLER!!!!!) So that will be in the baby's room tonight! We will not start decorating until we know the sex of the baby though. Speaking of baby... we have our next appointment in 5 days!!!! I am so so so so so so so so excited. I can not tell you how fun it is to go to the doctor these days :) I thought I would never say that! We will not get a sonogram this time but hopefully we will get to hear that amazing little heartbeat again! I get so excited even just thinking about it... it is truly one of those things that is so amazing words do not even come close to explaining. Make me smile, i guess is the simplest way :) Live simply, love much and laugh plenty! :)
OH i almost forgot to tell you about my gardening too!!! So I decided in my attempt to become more domesticated I would lend my hand to gardening this year! Well there is good news and bad news at the start of the season. . . we will start with the many positives.
1. At our new house there is a perfect spot for a veggie patch (garden). The bed is right next to our little patio in the backyard. It is the perfect size for a little beginner garden! (Not sure exact measurements but you get the point :)) It has a little stone border like there was a flower bed there before. I will have to put up some fencing for the dogs and any other little critter that will be eyeing my plants!
2. My dad and I planted some seeds... and they have sprouted!!!! So now i get to watch the miracle of life in more way then one :) (a little corny i know, but its still so fun!) I told my girlfriends I never thought i would be so excited about seeing little sprouts! We planted cucumbers and cantaloupe as well as a couple different kinds of daisies and zinnias. I love both of those flowers because the make great cutting flowers, bright flowers and beautiful thick green stems & foliage! We have other seeds to plant which are green beans, beets, spinach and i feel like i am forgetting one more... Oh I also want to get some herbs and maybe some watermelon and pumpkins. I might be biting off more then I can chew with this one! We also go the baby plants of tomatoes and peppers ( the staples in a Cusick garden)
Now to the bad news... IT HAS BEEN TO WET TO GET ANY OF THIS INTO THE ACTUAL GROUND! It will not stop raining here! And from what i hear it sounds like it will continue for another week or so! Hopefully sooner then later I will be able to get these plants in the ground! And when I say I, I mean my dad and me:) That is another reason why i really wanted to start a garden. I remember as a little girl how my dad would be out in the garden and my sister and i would go help/pretend to help or just be playing out there while he worked away at it:) I thought with the baby coming this might be something special for me and him/her to share. If you know the Cusick side of this newly started family you would know that they have an appreciation for mother earth that is above and beyond! I would have nothing less then to pass this onto our little one... once again one of those little things i just can not put into words because it is so special to me . Ok I have teared up twice now! I think i should stop before i start actually crying at work! We hope you all are doing well and send all of our love!
Happy Spring & Friday!

Stage 2....
Hi everyone! This is just a quick update. Oh and I forgot to put my due date on the last entry! ...... DRUM ROLL PLEASE... (okay that soooo did not have the effect I wanted) October 29 is our big date, well at least for the time being :)
Where I am at.... I have been feeling great for the most part! I did have my first run in with ... "morning sickness" which hit right around 2 pm for me. I am not even sure if that is what i would call it but to say the least me and one of the stalls at work had a face to face meeting. Okay okay too many details! Well needless to say i do not think the little alien is very fond of me eating peppers for the time being. Besides that and the occasional hot flash i have been feeling great!
I have had to graduate from my "skinny clothes" is what I am calling them now :( To be expected though. I packed them all up in a big Tupperware tub, said my farewells and my hope to see you again soon!
Oh!!! I almost forgot, we signed the lease on a rental house! So PJ and I will be moving into a 3 bedroom one bath house on May 1st! The house has an attached garage, unfinished basement and great backyard with a privacy fence for lewy! :) I am going to try and get some pictures of it posted here in the next few days, so stay tuned!

BIG NEWS!
Hello to all! Well since I have gotten you this far it is time to share the big news.... PJ & I are expecting a baby!
We found out about a month ago on a Saturday. I think we went through all the reactions of parents to be.... scared, excited, happy, nervous, and I am sure there are about 20 million other emotions we felt all in one rush when we looked down and saw the little plus! We had much to plan and to start thinking about! First and foremost was the doctors appointment to make sure everything was on schedule and looking healthy. After setting that up it was on to telling our immediate family. PJ got to his family first. When he told him mom she was excited to hear the news! Pj's dad was packing up his brothers car seat when his mom stopped him and said. "well you better keep that out for one more, we will be needing it!"
Now onto my Parents... When we found out my parents were a day away from heading out to Europe. So we decided it would be a good idea to wait until they got back to share the news. I called my mom the Tuesday after they returned... "Mom I have some big news.... I am pregnant!" Her reaction was very Hanna like ( for those of you who know my mom) .... "Oh Katie! Life brings us such wonderful and exciting things!" I talked with her about having dinner the next night and telling my dad... well after hanging up a got a phone call 15 minuets later from my dad... "Hey dad! what's up" and the next part was music to my ears.... "Well I guess you are going to have to start calling me grandpa!" in an extremely jubilant voice :)
So here we are! I am 11 weeks and 4 days pregnant! We have been to the doctors twice once for my first checkup and once for our first sonogram! At our first appointment we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was the craziest thing I have ever heard, so fast and steady... and to imagine that the little alien, what I refer to the baby as at the moment, was growing inside of me! The sonogram was just as amazing if not more! The picture came up right away and all I could do was stare... it was the most amazing moment in my life up to this point! The best part was the little one was waving at us! The nurse doing the sonogram pointed out this little white dot behind the baby's head that was moving back and forth and said, "look he/she is waving at you!" It was my little sign that the baby was saying. "Hi mommy and daddy! I can not wait to meet you!"
That was just this past Friday.I decided since we had met our little alien for the first time it was about time to introduce him/her to the family!
I know that this probably comes as shock to all of you, but I SO MUCH look forward to sharing the HAPPINESS and JOY that a new baby brings into a family's life!
I will keep the blog updated for every doctors appointment and little kick to come! Please feel free to post a comment if you would like!
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their spring!
With all our love,
Katie, PJ and Baby
